A single-person operated, battery-powered portable light tower for construction, mining, emergency response and firefighting — eliminating the fuel, noise, and maintenance costs of a diesel generator tower.
The LI-500 is a single-person operated, battery-powered light tower that raises and lowers on a motorized Cloud-Axis electric telescopic pole, controlled from a handheld spring-wire controller with no manual cranking. It's built to replace a diesel generator tower on open, exposed sites — the fuel, noise, and engine maintenance a generator tower needs simply aren't part of how the LI-500 runs.
Up to 65,000 lumens on AC power (5.3m mast) or up to 35,000 lumens on battery power, stepless dimmable on AC. Three lighting distance modes are available: Distance, Midrange, and Close-range.
Runs on LI-24-500 series lithium battery packs — up to three simultaneously, allowing hot-swaps without powering down — or on AC 100–277V mains power via an optional driver. A waterproof storage compartment houses USB Type-A (5V/2A) and Type-C (5V/2A) output ports.
Over 20 hours in Standard mode on three LI-24-500 packs, ranging from 10 hours (Turbo) to 100 hours (Eco) depending on brightness level selected.
Battery packs charge via the included LI-MC-2H charger. If a pack runs low before the mast can be retracted normally, a manual clutch release lets the pole be brought down by hand, so a depleted pack never leaves the mast stuck extended.
Available in 4.2m or 5.3m extended height, raised and lowered electrically via the Cloud-Axis telescopic pole. Lamp heads are fully rotatable with adjustable beam angle, and multi-level self-locking legs with an integrated dual-axis level get the unit stable and level quickly on uneven ground.
IP65 rated, Level 8 wind resistance when set up correctly with legs fully deployed and locked — the only model in the Litenza range with a certified wind-load rating. Wading depth up to 10cm.
50kg-class (50kg at 4.2m, 52kg at 5.3m, fitting only), single-person deployable. A triple-wheel, coaxial 3-wheel chassis with self-locking legs adapts to uneven terrain without a second operator.

The LI-500's combination of high output and a certified wind rating suits open, exposed sites needing full-scene coverage from a single position.
See our Battery vs Diesel Light Towers comparison for a full technology breakdown, or how the LI-500 stacks up against specific brands in our Atlas Copco and Spektrum comparisons.
| Factor | LI-500 | Diesel Generator Tower |
|---|---|---|
| Performance | Up to 65,000 lm on AC, stepless dimming | Fixed or steplessly variable, engine-dependent |
| Power source | Lithium battery pack, or AC mains | Onboard diesel generator |
| Fuel requirement | None | Diesel supply chain and refuelling schedule |
| Noise | Silent operation | Continuous engine noise |
| Emissions | None at point of use | Diesel exhaust |
| Deployment | Single person, 50kg-class unit | Typically trailer-towed, multi-person |
| Maintenance | No engine servicing | Regular engine, fuel-system and filter servicing |
| Operating cost | No fuel cost; battery/electricity only | Ongoing diesel cost plus engine maintenance and trailer transport |
Comparison reflects general characteristics of diesel-generator light towers as an equipment category, not a specific competitor product. See our full Battery vs Diesel Light Towers guide for the detailed breakdown.
Battery and AC-mains operation means the LI-500 produces no exhaust emissions and removes the fuel-handling risk of a diesel tower on a site already managing its own safety concerns. It runs silently — zero decibels of added engine noise — which matters on noise-sensitive sites, near residential areas, and during night operations where crew communication depends on hearing each other clearly. IP65 sealing and Level 8 wind resistance (correctly set up) keep the electrical system protected in exposed, weather-affected conditions. See our guide to IP ratings and industrial lighting standards for what IP65 covers, and our wind load ratings guide for what the Level 8 figure means in practice.
