Haul trucks move at speed along a fixed route in the dark, often for hours at a stretch. The lighting need here is continuous, even coverage along the route — enough to see the road edge, gradient changes, and other vehicles — rather than one intensely bright fixed point. Multiple towers spaced along a haul road cover this more evenly than a single high-output unit at one end.
A bench's working face isn't static; it advances as material is extracted. Fixed mast lighting installed for one bench position becomes progressively less useful as the face moves away from it. A tower that relocates in minutes, not days, keeps pace with the actual working face instead of lighting where the face used to be.
Crusher feeds, loading points, and stockpile areas run continuously and need the highest, steadiest output — this is usually where a site's biggest fixed installations already sit. Portable towers complement this by covering the temporary or relocating areas fixed infrastructure doesn't reach.
